BERGAMOT ESSENTIAL OIL (CITRUS BERGAMIA)

Mainly citrus, with fruity and sweet undertones with a warm, spicy floral quality. Reminiscent of Neroli.

Product Abstract
The Bergamot tree can grow up to four meters high, with star-shaped flowers, and smooth leaves, bearing citrus fruit resembling a cross between an orange and a grapefruit, but in a pear shape. The fruit ripens from green to yellow. The name Bergamot is derived from the city Bergamo in Lombardy where the oil was first sold.

FRANKINCENSE ESSENTIAL OIL (BOSWELLIA SERRATA)

A base note with a medium aroma, Frankincense has a warm, spicy, woody odour that is haunting, but yet mild.

Product Abstract
Frankincense originates from a rough but hardy tree indigenous to the Middle East, which is small with abundant pinnacle leaves and white or pale pink flowers. The resin begins as a fragrant, sticky, milky-white liquid that flows from the trunk of the tree when cut. The dried tears are collected, and the resin is then distilled, producing the precious oil. It is used as incense and has been traded for 5,000 years. Frankincense was brought back to Europe by Frankish Crusaders (Frank-incense) and the oil is still highly prized today in the perfumery industry and widely used in the manufacturing of skin-care products.

A very hearty fast-growing herb, peppermint can almost grow anywhere. Peppermint is used as a flavouring agent in the food industry and in soaps, candles and toiletries.

A base note with a medium aroma, Ylang Ylang has a sweet, exotic, floral scent that is very sought-after.

Product Abstract
Also known as “Flower Of Flowers,” Ylang Ylang is a tall tropical tree about 20 meters high with large fragrant, pink, mauve or yellow flowers; yellow heads are viewed as being the best in terms of quality. Ylang Ylang is best suited for use in the perfumery and skincare industries.

CEDARWOOD ATLAS ORGANIC ESSENTIAL OIL (CEDRUS ATLANTICA)

A middle note of strong aroma, Cedarwood Atlas Oil has a woody, sweet, scent.

Product Abstract
Cedarwood is an evergreen tree, which grows up to 130 ft. high. The wood itself is hard and strongly aromatic because of the essential oil it contains, which is obtained by steam distillation. The ancient Egyptians prized the oil, mostly for embalming purposes, but also for cosmetics and perfumery. Today, the oil is currently used in commercial soaps, cosmetics and perfumes, especially men's colognes.

EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS ORGANIC ESSENTIAL OIL (EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS)

A top note with a strong aroma, Eucalyptus Globulus has an herbaceous scent with soft, woody undertones.

Product Abstract
Eucalyptus Globulus is also known as Blue Gum. It’s an evergreen tree commonly found in Australia, which grows from 30 to 55m tall with long narrow bluish-green leaves and white-yellow flowers. Eucalyptus leaves are the favourite food of Koalas, and have been used as traditional medicine by the aboriginal peoples of Australia. In the 1980s, the Eucalyptus species and its hybrids were planted commercially in South Africa for the production of pulp and paper, and various other forest products. It has slowly evolved toward the production of essential oils.

A top note of strong aroma, Lavender has a rich, floral scent that is somewhat fruity and mellow, with a hint of camphor.

Product Abstract
The Lavender plant is a woody evergreen shrub, up to 1m tall, with pale green, narrow linear leaves and violet blue flowers. The entire plant is covered with oil glands, which are in the star shaped hairs that cover the plant. Lavender has been used since ancient times, and the Romans added lavender to their bath water, hence the name from the Latin lavare, ‘to wash.’ Differences in soil, altitude and temperature, precipitation and seasons contribute to subtle changes in the scent from one lot of Lavender to another.

Patchouli is a very fragrant herb with soft oval leaves and square stems. It grows from 2 to 3 feet in height and became very popular throughout the British Empire when silks and cashmere shawls from India were packed with Patchouli to discourage insects during shipping, the scent being the final proof of origin. In aromatherapy and perfumery, Patchouli provides an excellent fixative that can help extend other oils.

The Tea Tree is a small tree or shrub with needle-like leaves. It can grow up to 7 meters in height and thrives in marshy areas, though it is now cultivated in plantations. The aboriginal people of Australia have long used Tea tree Oil. Historically, the leaves were used as a substitute for tea, which is how it got its name. It is now well-known for its powerful antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties and ability to treat wounds.
